Canada has many diverse pathways by which it selects people to become permanent resident of Canada. Some economic pathways include Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, Caregiver Programs, Atlantic Immigration Pilot, Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot and many others.
If you have a family member who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, they may be able to sponsor you to come live with them in Canada on permanent basis.
Canadian citizenship can be granted in three ways: by birth, by descent or through naturalization.
It is very important that you maintain a valid status while you are in Canada as a temporary resident (visitor, student, or worker). If your status is expiring, you will need to submit an extension application if you want to continue living in Canada.
If you have let your status expire, you have 90 days to restore your status from the date of expiration of your status.
